However, the fuel tabs, which the stove requires to operate, have a bad smell and leave black residue on the bottom of the cooking pot. The fuel tablets are a bit expensive, but they burn better and longer than other alternatives. The Esbit stove is useful in locations where building fires for cooking is not the best option for any reason. Using it indoors is not recommended because of the smoke it produces.
