The SINGER® Professional™ 5 14T968DC Serger is a great combo machine for those who cannot afford two separate machines. The stitches are almost always perfect, and the machine is easy to use after getting familiar with it. It does come with a learning curve, as there are many stitch options, and changing from overlock to cover stitches can be time-Consuming. However, it is sturdy and demands very little finesse from the user, making it a good choice for those without trained hands. The machine is great for sewing multiple layers of thick materials, and the automatic tension adjustment feature is helpful. The only issue reported is that the thread can come out of the thread holder at full power, but this can be fixed with a piece of scotch tape. The machine is reasonably priced and comes with many functions. On the downside, the machine can be complex and requires some getting used to, and changing from overlock to cover stitches can be time-Consuming.
