Pro Evolution Soccer 4 (PC/DVD)

** Pro Evolution Soccer 4 (PC/DVD)** Pro Evolution Soccer 4 on PC aims to bring the exhilarating and competitive world of football to computer gamers, capitalizing on the success of its predecessor, PES3. Overall, it has received a warm reception for its immersive gameplay and robust graphics, which many reviewers found to surpass FIFA in realism and detail. The atmosphere and player animations have been praised, capturing the essence of live football beautifully. The game introduces a challenging experience that appeals to hardcore fans, particularly in terms of player statistics and their impact on gameplay, giving each athlete a distinct feel that reflects their real-life counterparts. However, the game is not without its flaws. A significant criticism revolves around the lack of analogue support for controllers, which diminishes the experience for those accustomed to the precision that analogue sticks provide. This hampers key gameplay mechanics, such as manual passing, leading to frustration as many players struggle with inaccurate passes. Players are also split on the realism of refereeing, with some feeling that prior versions handled officiating better. Despite these drawbacks, the enjoyable Master League system stands out, allowing players to create and manage teams, scout for talent, and develop players akin to Championship Manager. This depth enhances the game’s longevity and keeps fans engaged over time. In conclusion, Pro Evolution Soccer 4 offers a robust football simulation experience with commendable graphics and physics, although the absence of analogue control may deter some players. It remains a strong choice for fans who value in-depth gameplay and realistic football mechanics. **Pros and Cons** **
