Question:
What is the E-flite 10950 S.E.5a 900mm BNF Basic?
Answer: The E-flite 10950 S.E.5a 900mm BNF Basic is an advanced electric flight model designed for hobbyists and pilots. Equipped with AS3X technology, it provides enhanced stability, making it easier to control during flight. The Safe Select feature ensures added safety by preventing excessive bank angles and altitude loss. This model is a scale replica of the iconic WWI fighter, known for its excellent flight performance and detailed design, making it perfect for both beginner and experienced flyers. -
Question:
What does BNF mean in the E-flite 10950 S.E.5a?
Answer: BNF stands for 'Bind-N-Fly,' which indicates that the E-flite 10950 S.E.5a comes pre-assembled, allowing hobbyists to bind it to their compatible transmitter and start flying quickly. This ready-to-fly setup simplifies the process for those who may not want to build a model from scratch or spend time assembling different components. The included AS3X technology enhances the flying experience, making it enjoyable right from the first flight. -
Question:
What are the benefits of AS3X technology in the S.E.5a?
Answer: AS3X technology, which stands for Artificial Stabilization 3-axis, is designed to provide a smoother flying experience by compensating for wind and turbulence. This means the E-flite 10950 S.E.5a remains stable in various conditions, allowing you to focus on piloting without constant corrections. Whether you're an experienced pilot performing advanced maneuvers or a beginner looking to boost confidence in flying, AS3X significantly enhances flight stability and performance. -
Question:
What is the Safe Select feature and how does it work?
Answer: The Safe Select feature acts as a safety net for pilots, particularly beginners. When activated, it restricts the model's bank angles and altitude, making it difficult to accidentally fly into a crash scenario. This feature can be turned off as you gain confidence and skill. Ideal for new pilots, Safe Select ensures a safer initial flying experience while still offering the excitement of flying a scale model. -
Question:
What materials is the E-flite 10950 S.E.5a made from?
Answer: The E-flite 10950 S.E.5a is constructed from high-quality foam, which makes it lightweight yet durable. This material not only helps in achieving excellent flight performance but also makes the model easier to transport and handle. The foam is designed to absorb some impact, reducing damage during potential crashes, which is especially beneficial for novice pilots still mastering their flying skills. -
Question:
What kind of battery is compatible with the E-flite 10950 S.E.5a?
Answer: The E-flite 10950 S.E.5a typically requires a 3S LiPo battery for optimal performance. A 2200mAh 3-cell battery is recommended to ensure sufficient power for flight duration and motor performance. Choosing a high-quality LiPo battery will enhance flight times and provide consistent power. Proper battery management, such as monitoring voltage levels and handling with care, is essential for extending the lifespan of your battery. -
Question:
What is the recommended environment for flying the S.E.5a?
Answer: The E-flite 10950 S.E.5a is best suited for outdoor flying due to its size and capabilities. A calm day with minimal wind is ideal, as this allows for the AS3X technology to function effectively, ensuring a smoother flight. Flying in a wide open area will also minimize the risk of collisions with trees or structures. Beginners may choose to practice in larger fields while gaining proficiency before attempting more challenging locations. -
Question:
Can I use my existing transmitter with the S.E.5a?
Answer: Yes, the E-flite 10950 S.E.5a is designed to be compatible with various popular transmitters that operate in the 2.4GHz frequency range. Make sure to bind it with a compatible DSMX/DSM2 capable transmitter from Horizon Hobby or another brand. This versatility allows seasoned pilots to utilize their existing equipment while ensuring new hobbyists can find suitable transmitters easily. -
Question:
What type of flying skills does the E-flite S.E.5a cater to?
Answer: The E-flite 10950 S.E.5a caters to a wide range of flying skills. New pilots will benefit from the added stability provided by AS3X and Safe Select, allowing for easier handling as they learn basic maneuvers.
